Hand-carved from a single piece of wood in Transylvania, 16½ inches long and 5 across. The paddle shape is slightly off-square, which tells you it was made by eye and not by pattern. Well used, and worn to a color you can't fake.

Bread and butter is what it's for, and it will keep aging from here. The marks it already carries are the reason to have it, not something to sand out.
