Morga Textile
A vintage Guatemalan weaving in deep black, patterned with fine woven stripes and crossed by a band of vivid embroidery. Morga is the name for this near-black cloth in the Guatemalan highlands — the everyday ground against which the bright randa seam, the stitch that joins two handwoven panels, does all the talking.
Originally woven as a traditional garment and opened into a flat panel, so the embroidery now runs across the width. Long enough for a dining table, and equally suited to a wall hanging, pillows, bench cushions, or upholstery. The dark palette sits easily in both modern and collected interiors.
