Marcela Calderón Hand-Painted Ceramic Plate

Marcela Calderón Plate, Small

Mexico
$200
One of one — when it's gone, it's gone

Hand-painted in Mexico by Marcela Calderón, 8½ inches across, with an armadillo on a white ground. The shell is rendered in tiny repeated marks that hold up to a close look. One of a kind.

The white keeps it from tipping into folksy. It reads as a small painting, and I would hang it as one.
